Don’t Remove Switch 2’s Protective Film, Nintendo Says

Though excitement among fans is high, Nintendo strongly advises users to keep the protective covering on the portable screen of the Switch 2 for optimal performance.

Nintendo has made the user manual for the Switch 2 available online through Nintendo Soup. According to the guide, the screen is protected by a safety film that’s meant to prevent shattered pieces from spreading if damage occurs. The manual advises users not to remove this film.

When making the Switch 2 a long-term gaming companion, it’s advisable to heed this advice thoroughly. Moreover, there are numerous accessories available for the Switch 2, such as screen protectors that provide better protection against scratches and drops compared to Nintendo’s existing protective film. However, players must weigh the cost of these additional protections in their decision-making process.

The pre-orders for the Switch 2 were snapped up nearly instantly, leaving uncertainty about how frequently Nintendo will replenish their stock during the initial launch period. To prepare for the console’s debut, Nintendo has been gradually incorporating some of the Switch 2’s innovative features into its mobile app in advance.

At the release of Nintendo Switch 2, approximately twenty games for the new console are planned, such as Mario Kart: World, which can also be found in a bundle with the console itself. Additionally, enhanced versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will be available at the same time as Switch 2’s debut on June 4th.
