Donald Trump Says He Will Not Debate Kamala Harris Again, Claims ‘Polls Clearly Show That I Won’

As someone who has spent years observing and analyzing political debates, I must say that the recent exchange between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris was a spectacle to behold. While Trump may claim victory based on his own biased perspective, it is clear to any unbiased observer that Harris outperformed him in their first debate.

Having engaged in debates with both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, I find myself stating that a third debate is not on the horizon.

In a detailed post on his social media site Truth Social, the ex-president stated, “Just like a boxer who’s lost a bout, the first thing he says is, ‘Give me another chance.’ The polls indicate that I emerged victorious in my debate with Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s progressive candidate, on Tuesday evening. Yet, she swiftly requested a rematch.

It’s uncertain which specific polls President Trump is referring to, given that major surveys indicated a significant lead for Vice President Harris during the debate. For instance, CNN’s survey revealed that 63% of registered voters who watched the debate believed Harris outshone Trump. Similarly, YouGov’s poll showed Harris was ahead by 23 points when it came to performance in the debate.

One hour following Trump’s social media post, Harris put up a message on X: “Two days ago, I had my first debate with Donald Trump. It is essential for the voters that we have another chance to engage in a debate.” Immediately after Tuesday’s clash on ABC News, Harris’ team issued a challenge for another debate.

Trump stated on Tuesday evening that he believed the debate had been their finest yet – his personal best performance. He implied that Hillary Clinton wishes for a second debate because she didn’t win the first one.

Previously, the candidates hadn’t arranged for another debate. In March, before Trump squared off against Biden – whose poor showing significantly contributed to the incumbent President stepping down from the race – Trump posted on Truth Social: “For the benefit of our nation, Joe Biden and I should discuss crucial issues that matter greatly to America and its people. Thus, I am proposing debates at any time, in any location! The debates can be managed by the biased DNC or their affiliate, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). I eagerly await a response. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
