Dogecoin, the beloved memecoin, has recently found solace in the lower level of a Parallel Channel, as observed by analyst Ali Martinez. This technical analysis pattern, consisting of two parallel trendlines, has been the playground for the cryptocurrency’s price for the past few months.
Dogecoin’s Parallel Universe: A Tale of Two Trendlines
In a recent post on X, Martinez discussed the current state of Dogecoin’s daily price from the perspective of a Parallel Channel. This pattern forms when an asset’s price consolidates between two parallel trendlines, with the upper line tracking successive highs and the lower one lows.
Breaking out of either of these levels implies a continuation of the trend in that direction. A surge above the channel is a bullish signal, while a fall under it is a bearish one.
There are three types of Parallel Channels: Ascending, Descending, and the most common, the one that signifies true sideways movement. Dogecoin’s current situation falls into the latter category, with the channel being parallel to the time-axis.
As displayed in the chart shared by Martinez, Dogecoin’s daily price recently retested the lower level of the Parallel Channel, which is generally considered a level of support. The memecoin turned around and has since been on the way up.
According to the analyst, Dogecoin is now targeting the $0.19 level, situated at the midway point of the Parallel Channel. If the cryptocurrency can clear this level, it may set its sights on the $0.26 mark next, which corresponds to the upper level of the pattern.
From the current exchange rate, a surge to this line would imply an increase of more than 50%. It now remains to be seen how the asset’s trajectory would look in the near future and whether the lines of the Parallel Channel would play any part.
