Does Tom Holland Know He’s Getting a 4th Spider-Man Movie?

As a movie enthusiast who’s seen more superhero films than I care to count, I can confidently say that the news of another Spider-Man movie is music to my ears (or eyes, if you will). Tom Holland‘s latest blunder isn’t just a simple secret spill; it’s a beacon of hope for Marvel fans worldwide.

It’s no surprise that Tom Holland struggles with keeping secrets, but for the fourth Spider-Man movie, he’s not just permitted to spill the beans, he’s actively being encouraged! Here’s a rundown of what we currently know about the film, featuring Tom Holland’s insights on the script.

The first Spider-Man 4

On February 15, 2023: Time and again, there have been leaks about an NDA involving the Spider-Man star, with late-night talk show hosts and Instagram Live participants attempting to reveal exclusive information. However, the latest significant Marvel update doesn’t come from them but from Kevin Feige, known as Mr. Marvel. He confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that a fourth Spider-Man film is in development and being written. “We have the story,” he said, “and our writers are putting pen to paper now.” This raises a question: Did Holland, the Spider-Man star, already know about this new script? Or did he find out like the rest of us when he checked Twitter, excited for what’s to come? He had hinted in 2019 that he would continue as the superhero before the announcement of No Way Home. So far, Holland hasn’t commented on the news, likely busy with his tap-dancing routines akin to Fred Astaire. This suggests he might have been included in the Zoom meetings, keeping the secret well, Tom!

2024-10-23: Tom Holland is chatting on The Tonight Show again, this time with Feige’s blessing. He announced that his fourth Spider-Man film is indeed in progress and production starts the following summer. In a different interview, Holland mentioned that the script had him and Zendaya playfully tumbling around their living room.

Holland stated on Good Morning America, “The concept is quite unconventional.” He added, “It’s a bit distinct from what we’ve tackled before, but I believe the audience will find it intriguing.” As for how different, perhaps we’ll see Spider-Man in college or a cinematic portrayal of the Clone Saga. Maybe Peter Parker will join forces with a daywalker to fight vampires. However, it seems unlikely that Spider-Man 4 is actually a delayed Blade reboot. Instead, the upcoming movie might offer an innovative take on the Spider-Man storyline.
