As a seasoned Marvel enthusiast with over two decades of comic book collecting and film-watching under my belt, I must say, the daily announcements for Marvel Rivals have been nothing short of exhilarating! The anticipation is palpable, and the countdown to Doctor Strange’s arrival feels like an eternity. I’ve always been a fan of the Sorcerer Supreme, but his comic book-inspired “Sorcerer Supreme of the Galaxy” skin has me positively giddy!
Approximately two weeks ago, Danny Koo, executive producer of Marvel Rivals, shared on the game’s Discord server that players can expect daily updates at midnight UTC, leading up to its global release. The game is scheduled for console and PC launch on December 6th, 2024 as a free-to-play title. All heroes announced will be playable from day one, including the recently confirmed character, Moon Knight, who comes with an exclusive “Mister Knight” skin that all players can access.
For ten consecutive days now, NetEase Games has been announcing new characters on their Marvel Rivals social media platforms. Yesterday’s announcement featured none other than Doctor Strange, who is more commonly known as Dr. Steven Strange. This reveal coincides with the recent release of a promotional video for the Rivals Assemble game, which also showcased a fresh look for the character belonging to the Vanguard class.
24 days left until Doctor Strange unveils his mastery of mystic arts, ready to enchant foes on the battlefield! Soon, it will be your chance to join him in safeguarding all realities as the Sorcerer Supreme! Add it to your wishlist now…

On the tenth day of daily updates for the multiplayer shooter game Marvel Rivals, featuring superhero teams, a promotional video showcasing the character Doctor Strange as part of Rivals Assemble was unveiled. Additionally, there was another announcement about cosmetic additions for Doctor Strange, following the confirmation of several heroes such as Hulk, Iron Man, and Magik over the last fortnight.
Instead of the recent trend where characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) have been adopted in various announcements, Doctor Strange’s latest cosmetic design is inspired by his comic book persona. Presenting the “Sorcerer Supreme of the Galaxy” skin, which was unveiled on November 11, 2024, across their social media platforms, marks a new addition to the character. This skin, first seen in Doctor Strange #5 (2018), depicts Strange expanding his arsenal with cosmic magic and esoteric weapons. However, he recognizes that he may be reaching beyond his limits, potentially leading to severe repercussions for him and his comrades.
It remains uncertain at the moment how players can obtain all the announced cosmetics for various characters, but it appears that completing Galacta’s Quest missions might be the way. As we approach the game’s launch on 6th December 2024, more details will be revealed, and you can add it to your Wishlist to be informed when it becomes available on your preferred platform.
