‘Doc’ Season 2 Casts Felicity Huffman in Series Regular Role

Felicity Huffman has joined “Doc” Season 2 at Fox.

In the main cast of the series, Huffman portrays Dr. Joan Ridley – a character who was Amy Larsen’s (played by Molly Parker) professor in medical school and an early mentor. Additionally, she is now holding the position of Chief of Internal Medicine at Westside Hospital.

In addition to Parker and Huffman, the cast of “Doc” in its second season includes Omar Metwally, Jon Ecker, Amirah Vann, Anya Banerjee, Patrick Walker, and Charlotte Fountain-Jardim.

Huffman is coming back to Fox after appearing as a guest star on their anthology drama “Accused.” She gained popularity with her leading role in the ABC series “Desperate Housewives,” earning two Emmy nominations. Additionally, she has been nominated for three Emmys for her performance in ABC’s “American Crime.” Some of Huffman’s recent TV appearances include “The Good Doctor” and “Criminal Minds: Evolution.” In 2006, she was recognized with an Academy Award nomination for best actress for her work in “Transamerica.

Season 2 finds strong medical professional Dr. Amy Larsen (Parker) navigating life’s complexities as she recovers from a car accident that wiped eight years of her memory. The show “Doc” is a remake of the Italian series “Nelle tue mani,” which was developed and filmed by Lux Vide, part of Fremantle Company. Barbie Kligman and Hank Steinberg share the role of co-showrunners and executive producers on “Doc.” Additionally, Erwin Stoff, Russell Fine, John Weber, Frank Siracusa, Carol Barbee, and David Foster serve as executive producers. The production is handled by Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment Studios.
