1923, Yellowstone’s prequel, is back for more with its second season! You can catch it on Paramount+ starting February 23, 2025. This new season promises to wrap up the storylines of the older Dutton family members, while shedding light on some intriguing plot points that viewers have been curious about.

Is Alex pregnant in 1923?

In the final episode of season 1, Alex and Spencer found themselves apart. Yet, they vowed to reunite in Montana. However, in “The Killing Season”, the premiere of season 2, it was revealed that Alex is in England, which means she has a lengthy trip ahead of her. To make matters worse, she’ll need to hurry if she hopes to arrive on time.

Alexandra Dutton announced that she’s expecting a child and revealed to a friend that she must travel to Montana before her pregnancy shows. Due to Spencer’s troubles, their marriage is in jeopardy, leaving her in a challenging situation as an unmarried woman carrying a child. This predicament makes her life quite tough.

In the story “The Killing Season,” Alex finds herself in a predicament as her family refuses to provide financial aid for her journey to Montana, where Spencer resides. Consequently, she must rely on her own resources. With the assistance of a friend, she sells expensive jewelry. By the end of the story, Alex is aboard a ship, en route to reunite with Spencer.

Spencer and Alex haven‘t had a child so far, but they will soon, since the woman is carrying a baby at present.

Spencer and Alex’s child may solve some Yellowstone mystery

In the show, John Dutton III, portrayed by Kevin Costner, is believed to be the son of John Dutton II, but it’s unclear which character in the series he is a son of. Although the characters from the 1923 series are likely his ancestors, the prequel has yet to reveal who John Dutton III descends from specifically.

It seems that the second season of the series “1923” might provide clarification on this matter, as Alex’s pregnancy with Spencer could potentially have a connection to the identity of John Dutton II. If they indeed are his parents, it would help fill in gaps in the Dutton family lineage. Yet, it’s important to note that there is still uncertainty, as Jack and Elizabeth are also possible candidates for being John Dutton II’s parents.

As a devoted fan, I find myself intrigued by the character Jack, a figure who is the elder brother to Spencer, the son of the late John Dutton I, in the gripping series “1923.” Despite being referred to as John’s son, it’s plausible that Jack himself may have chosen this name for his own child. However, at present, Jack does not appear to have any offspring. In the first season, his spouse, Elizabeth, experienced a tragic miscarriage shortly after becoming pregnant.
