Disneyland’s 70th Celebration Starts Now with New Rides Food and Magical Surprises

Disneyland has kicked off its 70th anniversary celebrations.

From this coming Friday until summer 2026, the Anaheim theme park will be marking its 70th anniversary with various festivities spread throughout the resort. A touch of their unique magical fairy dust can be found in everything from decorations and food to the rides themselves.

In the park area connecting Disneyland and California Adventure, visitors can admire a 50-foot sculpture that takes inspiration from Sleeping Beauty Castle. This art piece features vibrant glass panels and gold trinkets symbolizing the original five realms.

At the center of Town Square lies a special setup, exclusively designed for the celebration, showcasing beloved characters Mickey and Minnie. Additionally, a beautifully crafted emblem graces Sleeping Beauty Castle as part of the anniversary festivities.

One of the updates made for the festivities includes integrating characters from “Coco”, specifically Miguel and his faithful companion Dante, into the timeless It’s a Small World attraction.

A new line penned by the Sherman Brothers is set to be added to the “It’s a Small World” ride.

Fresh performances are going to enliven the park’s entertainment lineup. Starting off is “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!”, a new show from Disney Jr., which includes exciting character appearances and catchy original tunes.

At California Adventure Park, the celebrations will carry on as World of Color’s Happiness takes center stage. This enchanting nighttime water show features dancing fountains, music, and character projections along Pixar Pier will commence with the inspiring words from Walt Disney, “To all who find their way to this joyful place…welcome!

In the TV program, the character Joy from “Inside Out, voiced by Amy Poehler, takes center stage. She’s accompanied by her fellow emotions like Sadness and Anger. Additionally, characters from popular Disney tales such as “Turning Red,” “A Goofy Movie,” “Encanto,” and even “The Muppets” make their way onto the screen to join the fun.

The performance will feature popular Disney tunes, along with a unique interpretation of “Rainbow Connection” performed by Boyz II Men.

In our presentation, you’ll find “The Little Mermaid,” “Turning Red,” and “A Goofy Movie” joined by “Tangled,” “Encanto,” “Toy Story,” “Aladdin,” “Cinderella,” “Snow White,” “Lilo and Stitch,” and a few other Disney classics.

For sale are items commemorating the 70th anniversary, such as special ears, along with additional merchandise. The Paint the Night parade boasts over a million vibrant LED lights. This spectacular nighttime event is making its comeback, and Wondrous Journeys will incorporate cutting-edge projection technology. On specific evenings, this show will be enhanced by fireworks.
