It seems like some theme park fans will always find something to complain about, and that’s definitely the case with the latest Disneyland issue. People are worried the Evil Queen character from Snow White might not appear in the park for the next 11 months, but it’s probably a lot of fuss over nothing.
Is Disneyland “Retiring” The Evil Queen?
The Evil Queen is a hugely popular character at both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom. Villains are often more fun to watch than heroes because they can be playfully mean and sarcastic. That’s why many fans were upset by a recent viral TikTok video where the Evil Queen, from Snow White, suggested she wouldn’t be appearing at the park after the Halloween season ended.

Many Disney villains are only available to meet at the parks during Halloween. However, some, like the Evil Queen, are usually available all year. Recently, the Evil Queen hinted she might be leaving with the other seasonal villains, which caused a lot of worry among fans online, who shared comments like…
- Disney is slowly killing what makes the parks so magical. The Evil Queen has become a massive fan favorite at the parks so this is just beyond baffling. – @LothWolffe
- It’s because she’s too good at her job. People only wanted to see her @rabbitSZN2
- Evil Queen demoted to seasonal work proving even Disney magic runs on cost cutting measures – @zeroXhope
- This diva outperforming everyone they had to get rid of her – @leoaarvizu
It would be terrible if the Evil Queen disappeared and didn’t reappear until the next Halloween season, probably starting in late August 2026. But there’s no indication that will actually happen.
Disneyland Characters Rotate All The Time, And The Evil Queen Isn’t Going Anywhere
A recent TikTok video suggests the Evil Queen might leave Disneyland, but it’s not certain she’ll be gone for long – or even until next Halloween. Disney parks regularly change which characters appear throughout the year, and it’s often unpredictable who you’ll meet on any given day. When I contacted Disneyland about this, they confirmed this seasonal rotation of characters and didn’t mention any plans to remove the Evil Queen permanently.
Disney villains are a key part of what we offer, and you’ll continue to find them at our theme parks. At Disneyland, we regularly change which characters appear, especially around holidays and special events.
It’s common for characters to only appear at the parks during certain times of the year. For example, the Fantastic Four were available this summer in Tomorrowland, but they’re no longer meeting guests. The characters from Encanto are currently at Disneyland, but will leave after the Halloween season ends. And some villains only make appearances during special events like the Oogie Boogie Bash.
Just so you know, even though the Evil Queen might be taking a break right now, that could change quickly. You never know which characters might show up at Disneyland Resort on any given day – you could easily run into someone you haven’t seen in a while!
I really don’t know how the resort chooses which characters guests will see each day. It honestly seems like they just pick at random, maybe even by throwing darts at a board to decide which costumes to use.
The Evil Queen is a really popular character with our guests, so I don’t think she’ll be gone for long, even if she’s not around for a bit. She might just take some time off for the holidays – she deserves a vacation!
