SOCCER STREAMING
As a movie lover, I’m thrilled to share that starting from the 2025/26 season and continuing through the 2029/30 seasons, I’ll have exclusive access on Disney+ to live stream the UEFA Women’s Champions League soccer tournament across Europe! This fantastic five-year pact is a game-changer for sports enthusiasts like myself. Let’s celebrate this exciting news and enjoy every moment of these inspiring matches together!
Disney+ has become the exclusive platform for the entire 75-match competition, starting in October when it coincides with the new 18-team league phase format of the tournament. Every match will be broadcast live to subscribers without any extra charge, all the way up to the final in 2026 at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo.
Disney+’s production responsibilities will be managed by ESPN, offering commentary in multiple languages and pre-game as well as post-game programming. With nearly five decades of broadcasting expertise, ESPN contributes to the project, having recently expanded coverage for UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League on Disney+ in Denmark and Sweden.
Disney’s new announcement expands upon their current collaboration with UEFA through the Playmakers program. This program has introduced soccer to over 132,000 girls aged 5-8 at approximately 6,300 locations in 46 countries since 2020. The initiative, now extended to 2027, currently employs around 8,000 coaches.
Karl Holmes, Disney+ EMEA’s general manager, stated that the UEFA Women’s Champions League exemplifies top-notch football [soccer] skill, determination, and enthusiasm. By broadcasting this remarkable tournament on Disney+, we are fulfilling our promise to provide a diverse array of exciting and vibrant entertainment to our customers and viewers.

At present, Disney+ is kicking off the production of “Delusion” (tentative title), a live-action version of the widely beloved webtoon from Naver. This project will debut exclusively on Disney+ platforms worldwide and on Hulu in the United States.
The story revolves around Song Jeonghwa, a vampire who’s been living in solitude after losing a cherished love many years ago. However, her tranquil existence is disrupted when Iho, a painter with a shrouded past, enters the scene and stirs feelings within her that she thought had long faded.
Suzy plays the role of Song Jeonghwa, a sorrowful vampire, in the series “Start-Up”. Kim Seonho is cast as Iho, a mysterious artist, and Han Jaerim takes on the director’s chair.
The project is part of the growing collection of Korean content on Disney+, alongside shows like “Low Life” starring Ryu Seungryong, “Tempest” with Jun Gianna and Gang Dongwon, and “Made In Korea” headlined by Hyun Bin and Jung Woosung.
DOCUMENTARY DIRECTOR
Sky News in the U.K. has appointed Siobhan Sinnerton as the creative director of their newly established long-form documentary production division, Full Story Films. Previously, she was with HiddenLight Productions where she created and executive produced critically acclaimed documentaries such as “In Her Hands,” which won an Emmy for Netflix.
In this arrangement, Sinnerton is scheduled to meet with David Rhodes, the executive chair of Sky News Group, where she’ll be shaping both the editorial and creative direction for the premium division within Sky’s news group. To bolster Sky Documentaries’ wider commissioning approach, Full Story Films will produce films that are related to news but also suitable for streaming and television broadcast.
Previously serving as a commissioning editor for news and current affairs at Channel 4, Sinnerton was instrumental in greenlighting the BAFTA-winning documentary “Myanmar’s Killing Fields” and the Oscar-nominated film “For Sama”. During this time, Sinnerton also oversaw the production of high-quality human-interest and investigative films.
Sinnerton was in charge of deciding which news and current affairs programs to air on Channel 4. They played a key role in creating award-winning documentaries like “Myanmar’s Killing Fields” and “For Sama”, as well as other human-interest and investigative films.
This initiative prioritizes collaborations with renowned documentary creators, leveraging Sky News’ journalistic expertise and vast library of content. Sinnerton asserts the aim is to produce impactful, emotionally resonant films that deeply engage viewers by teaming up with exceptional directors, producers, and editors from the U.K. and Ireland.
