Music is central to the magic of Walt Disney World. Disney songs are instantly recognizable and can really make you feel like you’re in a special place. But you’ll also hear other popular tunes throughout the parks. This weekend at Epcot, many guests requested The Beach Boys‘ “California Girls,” and it turned out John Stamos was there too!
Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival features the ‘Eat to the Beat’ concert series. The American Gardens Theater hosts dozens of bands, often well-known groups from previous years who continue to tour. It’s a chance to enjoy nostalgic performances – many people recently saw The Beach Boys perform with John Stamos. A TikTok video showed that the November 16th concert was incredibly popular, with the crowd overflowing from the theater and filling the entire American Pavilion.

Lots of people complain about how crowded Walt Disney World can be, but Epcot isn’t normally this packed. It looks like everyone is squeezed together behind the theater to listen to The Beach Boys – or maybe they’re all there to see John Stamos!
John Stamos, best known from Full House, has been performing with The Beach Boys, often on drums, since 1985. Given his well-known love for Disney – he’s even a member of the exclusive Club 33 – it’s no surprise he joined them for a show at Epcot. It’s a perfect way to enjoy Disney World while on tour!
The Beach Boys performing at Epcot aren’t the original lineup many fans remember. While Mike Love is still with the group from the early days, Bruce Greenwood has been touring with them since 1965 as well. Sadly, Brian Wilson, who co-founded the band and wrote many of their hits, passed away earlier this year.
A lot of the bands who play at the Eat to the Beat concert series are regulars, but this was the Beach Boys’ first time performing at Epcot. Whether they’ll be invited back remains to be seen – their performance clearly drew a huge crowd, and Disney might be considering if they can handle that level of attendance again.
Okay, so The Beach Boys are hitting the stage again tonight, November 17th, and that wraps up the ‘Eat to the Beat’ concert series for this year. Good news if you’re still hoping to enjoy the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, it’s running through the week! But get ready, because things are changing fast – the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays kicks off right after Thanksgiving. And this year, they’re really pulling out all the stops with celebrity readers! I’m talking Brendan Fraser, Brie Larson, even Susan Egan, the original voice of Megara from Hercules, all reading the Christmas story. It sounds like a really fun, festive experience.
