Director X Signs With Paradigm (EXCLUSIVE)

The renowned Canadian music video director and filmmaker known as Director X, whose real name is Julien Christian Lutz, has secured representation by joining forces with Paradigm Talent Agency.

Renowned for his innovative, visually striking direction, Director X boasts over 100 acclaimed music videos under his belt, working alongside popular musicians such as Drake (“Hotline Bling,” “Started From the Bottom”), Rihanna (“Work,” “Pon de Replay”), Rosalía (“La Fama,” “Con Altura”), Kendrick Lamar (“King Kunta”) and Justin Bieber (“Boyfriend”). He has received a Juno and a BET Award for his contributions, and has been nominated for multiple other accolades, including a Grammy nomination for the music video of Future and Drake’s “Life Is Good.

He has directed several episodes for television shows such as “Genius: MLK/X” on National Geographic, where Aaron Pierre portrayed Malcolm X and Kelvin Harrison Jr. played Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He also worked on Amazon’s hit action series “Cross,” featuring Aldis Hodge. In addition to this, he directed a block of episodes for the Hulu and LuckyChap’s limited series “Mike,” focusing on the life of boxing legend Mike Tyson (who is also represented by Paradigm). Furthermore, he was responsible for directing the pilot and first episode of Netflix’s vampire thriller “October Faction” and two episodes of “The Imperfects.

Director X has collaborated on films such as “Superfly” produced by Sony Pictures and the hockey movie “Across the Line.” His next project will be helming “The Drowning,” a film under Roy Lee’s Vertigo Entertainment.

Beyond his professional career in media, Director X is the brainchild behind Operation Prefrontal Cortex – a project conceived with the aim of minimizing gun violence in his hometown, Toronto. This is achieved primarily through the promotion of mindfulness and meditation practices.
