Digimon Story: Time Stranger Launches This October

During the February State of Play event earlier this year, we got another glimpse of Digimon Story: Time Stranger in the June State of Play. The latest trailer provided a deeper insight into the game’s narrative along with its release date – October 3rd.

The upcoming game is titled “Time Stranger” and belongs to the Digimon RPG series, initially released on the Nintendo DS in 2006. As suggested by its name, this fresh installment allows players to assume the character of a time-traveler who’s inexplicably been hurled eight years back in time, right before a catastrophic event. Your mission is twofold: prevent this disaster and investigate temporal aberrations in other timelines. Similar to previous games, you will gather and nurture Digimon companions that you’ll control during turn-based conflicts against adversary Digimon.

In this upcoming tale, events unfold across both physical and virtual realms, and you’ll have the chance to gather and develop more than 450 distinct digital creatures known as Digimon. From the latest trailer, it appears that each Digimon offers a variety of customization choices. While we don’t yet know the full extent of these options, it seems like Time Stranger is tailor-made for strategy enthusiasts who enjoy delving deep into intricate turn-based combat mechanics.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is set to launch for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
