Diddy Auditioned to Play James Brown in ‘Get on Up,’ Lost Part to Chadwick Boseman

It came to light during Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial for sex trafficking that he had tried out for the role of James Brown in the 2014 Universal biopic “Get on Up”. However, the role eventually went to Chadwick Boseman.

The intrigue surrounding Combs’ involvement in a specific role became apparent during the questioning phase, where one of his past assistants, identified as “Mia” and testifying under a false name, accused him of rape and sexual assault. Text messages between Mia and Combs were presented as proof, including a message from August 2020 that read, “Thinking of you amidst Chadwick Boseman’s passing,” hinting at the actor’s demise. She further stated that Combs was trying out for the role of James Brown.

In Mia’s communication, she mentioned that she possessed an audition video from Combs and intended to forward it to him. This seemed like a substantial offer for the part, given that she referred to the audition process as a “week-long production” they had put together.

Reflecting on our shared adventures, as recounted by Mia in her texts, let me share a couple of unforgettable episodes that still bring a smile to my face.

One tale revolves around the time when it seemed Mick Jagger was expressing interest in Mia – an amusing encounter indeed! Another anecdote paints a picture of a high-stakes poker game between myself and none other than Leonardo DiCaprio. As Mia puts it, I confidently declared during that game: “That ‘Titanic’ fellow doesn’t know the first thing about gambling. He walked away with $10,000, but I bagged a cool $650,000.

During her eight-year tenure at Combs’ company, Mia frequently spoke about instances she claimed were violent and sexually inappropriate. As she testified, she often reiterated that the good times were intense and the bad times were equally so, saying “the highs were extremely high, and the lows were extremely low.” She confessed to not wanting to disclose the alleged rape, stating that she wished to keep it secret and “die with it,” further adding that she felt manipulated by Combs and was continually seeking his approval even after she no longer worked for him.

A week ago, Mia provided testimony stating that Combs had violently slammed her arm against a commercial-grade door on multiple occasions. Additionally, she claimed he had once angrily shoved her against a wall while assaulting his girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Furthermore, it was alleged that at Burning Man one year, Combs coerced Mia into taking ketamine. Mia asserted that the psychological trauma she experienced working for Combs has led to severe PTSD, and that the alleged rape represents the most devastating and embarrassing event in her life.

Combs faces accusations of human trafficking and organized crime. If found guilty, he may serve a prison sentence for the remainder of his life.
