In a highly suspenseful conclusion, Andor Season 2 Episode 3 finds the burden of the rebellion heavily impacting Mon Mothma, while it seems Luthen Rael might resort to extreme measures to thwart any potential disruption by Tay Kolma.
In the initial season of ‘Andor’, Tay seemed to maintain a friendly relationship with Mon Mothma. Although she didn’t explicitly disclose her support for the Rebellion, she sought Taylor’s counsel when she faced the risk of failing an Imperial audit and required funds. He then guided her towards Davo Sculdun, who presumably could have helped her financially.
In the initial episodes of Season 2, Tay’s circumstances are bleak. His business is struggling, his spouse has departed, and the charity organization he established to aid the Rebellion faces investigation from the Empire. He expresses feeling underappreciated, and essentially, he asks Mon for additional funds.
By the finale of Episode 3, it seems that Luthen Rael disapproves strongly, and it appears as though Tay is forced to make the greatest sacrifice due to voicing his concerns.
Why Tay Kolma is probably dead after Andor Season 2 Episode 3
Towards the end of Andor Season 2 Episode 3, it’s clear that Tay Kolma is being driven back home by someone new – none other than Cinta, who used to be Vel’s partner and is currently a rebel operative under Luthen’s command.
It’s uncertain if he survived because we didn’t witness the outcome, but it appears that Luthen may have given her a mission to eliminate him to avoid Kolma revealing their operations to Davo or others on Chandrila.
I can’t help but see that Tay’s financial demands are becoming an issue that needs addressing. Despite being one of Mon’s closest friends since time immemorial, I fear that if she gives in to his requests for more money now, it might open a Pandora’s box. What could he ask for next? And if he’s still not content with his life, might he use the Rebellion as leverage against her? It’s a concerning thought.
Mon is determined to locate a figure that should end Luthen’s persistent queries, however, Luthen remains skeptical.
From the very beginning, I made it clear… it’s in human nature to stumble, and that’s our unfortunate predicament,” Luthen explains. “You are aware of the risks. We’d remain exposed if we don’t take precautions to safeguard you.
Mon seems puzzled by Luthen’s idea, yet her expression betrays understanding – it appears Luthen is hinting at the possibility that Tay might have to meet an untimely end. Luthen then comments casually, “How thoughtful of you,” and Mon retreats into the festivities.
In an earlier conversation with Awards Daily, Genevieve O’Reilly discussed Mon and Tay’s relationship. “Initially, these two characters have a shared history, which includes knowing each other since childhood. This history influences their political connections at the time.
1) “They’re both hesitant to reveal their political leanings. Interestingly, upon discovering shared values, they even contemplate aligning themselves with the ISB party, considering a sense of rebelliousness together.
In the eyes of showrunner Tony Gilroy, nobody has it harder than Mon Mothma in Season 2.
In his conversation with Entertainment Weekly, he expressed that out of all the characters on the show, none seem to face as many challenging experiences, obstacles, and hardships as she does.
Since she must perform all tasks that others do while dealing with stress, apprehension, and unease, and she needs to do so under public scrutiny, she doesn’t have a place to conceal herself. This period only magnifies this situation to nearly unmanageable levels.
What else happens at the end of Andor Season 2 Episode 3?
In the third episode of Andor Season 2, titled “Brasso,” another significant character meets their end. This unfortunate incident occurs during a fierce gun battle between Stormtroopers and Cassian, as he makes his way back to Mina-Rau.
Following my daring breakout from Yavin 4, I find myself back in the company of Bix and their crew on Mina-Rau. Unfortunately, the situation has spiraled out of control, with Bix being compelled to defend herself against Krole, an Imperial officer who made a vile attempt to assault her.
An external guard sounds an alarm, and Cassian swiftly arrives on a TIE fighter, firing at the Stormtroopers to protect Bix, Wil, and himself. Unfortunately, Brasso doesn’t survive; he falls in the line of fire, and there’s no chance to retrieve his body before they hastily escape the planet.
As a dedicated gamer immersed in the Star Wars universe, I must admit that Bix’s scene was a game-changer. It was tough to portray because everyone involved understood the gravity of this moment, not just for our show but for Star Wars as a whole. Adria Arjona expressed this sentiment to Entertainment Weekly.
Apart from feeling anxious, I found an unusual sense of security and comfort during the process. Just like Tony Gilroy, he creates a reflective atmosphere, suggesting that events occurring on Earth could have parallel occurrences in distant galaxies.
