Devs have changed the realistic shooter for PlayStation and Xbox. After criticism, they tell PC players how to undo changes in Ready or Not

Towards the end of June, Void Interactive sparked anger among their fanbase by disclosing the censorship of highly contentious aspects within their tactical shooter, Ready or Not. Subsequently, details regarding the nature of this censorship were also revealed.

The explanation behind the recent updates is due to the forthcoming console releases on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Since the game needs adjustments to run smoothly on these platforms, it led to modifications that will also apply to the PC version. However, the players’ discontent stemmed from this fact. Now, the developers plan to clarify their rationale behind this decision once more.

  1. The devs decided to make crossplay easier. The game will allow PC and Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 owners to play together. On their Discord, the creators explain that this is because maintaining two PC versions (one censored and one containing original elements) would not make sense and would greatly hinder the development of the game, forcing double tests, file complications, and certification costs.
  2. One of the players asked if it would still be possible for fans to create a mod that would restore the original, uncensored version of the game. The devs responded affirmatively. They’re not going to block it, and it won’t cause any technical issues, because crossplay isn’t possible when playing with mods.
