Details revealed for Pokemon Champions, launching for Switch 1&2, iOS, and Android worldwide in 2026

As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about the upcoming Pokemon Champions! During the July 2025 Pokemon Presents stream, The Pokemon Company unveiled more details about this battle-centric game. What’s even more intriguing is that

As a dedicated fan, I’d like to clarify something: The exciting news about this game was first unveiled back in February. Previously shared trailers hinted at an innovative feature – cross-platform combat between Nintendo Switch and mobile devices! Furthermore, trainers would have the opportunity to transfer more Pokemon from the Pokemon Home service.

As a thrilled fan, today’s trailer has me on cloud nine! It offers a peek at the upcoming battle game’s user-friendly interface and diverse modes. What’s exciting is that players can customize their Pokemon’s stats and abilities using the Victory Points (VP) earned from battles. Plus, you can snag new Pokemon in-game by spending VP without needing to connect with Pokemon Home. But This gives us an opportunity to test drive and choose the perfect partner for our battles!

Gearing Up for Pokémon Champions 2026: My Journey as a Trainer
As I embark on my adventure in Pokémon Champions 2026, I’ll be recruiting Pokémon to join my team and engage in thrilling battles against fellow trainers. Trial Recruitment allows me to test out new Pokémon immediately, giving me the opportunity to strategize and see if they’re a good fit for my team [1]. If I find a Pokémon worthy of long-term companionship, I can use Victory Points (VP)—earned through Ranked Battles and other methods—to permanently add them to my roster.

But that’s not all! I can also utilize VP to customize my Pokémon according to my playstyle, adjusting their stats and Abilities to fit my preferred strategy [2]. The possibilities are endless as I strive to become the ultimate Pokémon Champion in 2026!

In Pokémon Champions, you’ll find three distinct battle styles to explore. These can be engaged in either solo (Single Battle) or team (Double Battle) settings.

  • Ranked Battles: Players can test their skills against other Trainers from all over the world. Trainers are divided into tiers based on their skill level.
  • Casual Battles: Trainers can test how their teams perform against Pokémon Trainers from around the world in a relaxed environment.
  • Private Battles: Players can battle against friends or family in the same in-game room.

The highly-anticipated Pokémon Champions game is planned for launch in 2026 on both the latest version of Nintendo Switch (Switch 2) as well as original Nintendo Switch, plus iOS and Android devices. For further details, kindly check out the official Pokémon Champions website.
