As a seasoned Destiny 2 Warlock, the return of Xur to the Tower always brings a sense of excitement and anticipation. This time around, the Agent of the Nine has truly outdone himself with the Chromatic Fire Exotic armor for my fellow space wizards.

On November 29th, Xur made his usual trip back to the Tower in Destiny 2. Among the items he carried were some must-have goods for Warlocks, which they’d be wise to grab right away.

Typically, the Agent of the Nine offers a variety of Exotic armors from different classes at random, and this time, the Chromatic Fire armor for Destiny 2’s sorcerers is particularly noteworthy due to its strong potential in gameplay strategies (meta viability).

This roll boasts an exceptional 69 total stats, only a few points shy of the extremely rare maximum, and it also has a well-balanced stat distribution. In the current game environment, Mobility is often overlooked due to its minimal effect on build power, while Resilience is highly valued instead.

Despite some regrettable low Discipline, the cost of 41 Strange Coins makes this an obvious choice, offering significant advantages for future build-ups.

Xur’s top-tier roll of Chromatic Fire is available for 41 Strange Coins until December 3.

Meta Analysis

In simpler terms, an Exotic Chromatic Fire (which isn’t limited to a specific subclass) can serve as a strong foundation for any element in gameplay. However, Solar, with its powerful elemental impact in Scorch particularly for PvE, gains the most advantage from the chest armor’s Exotic ability.

Typically, the Damage over Time effect can be found only on weapons with the Incandescent trait, which sets enemies ablaze and causes them to explode once sufficient Scorch stacks are accumulated. However, Chromatic Fire provides you the ability to imbue any Kinetic Primary weapon of your preference with the Incandescent trait, given that you’re equipped with a Solar Super (Prismatic included), even for exotic weapons.

When it comes to selecting your main weapon, it’s largely a matter of personal taste, but I’d like to highlight two top-tier options that complement the effect exceptionally well: Outbreak Perfected and Khvostov 7G-0X. These weapons are already standouts for damage per second (DPS), so boosting them with Scorch just increases their power even further.

Here’s your reminder: You need to collect that roll from Xur by December 3rd. Running low on Strange Coins? Don’t worry, we’ve got some quick strategies to help you farm that rare currency efficiently.
