Destiny 2’s new Dungeon Auto Rifle is the first of its kind for 3 years

As a gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt and countless hours spent in the Destiny universe, I must say that the introduction of VS Pyroelectric Propellant in Destiny 2 Episode Revenant’s Vesper’s Host has sent my gaming heart racing. The return of the much-loved 600 RPM auto rifle archetype after a long hiatus is like reconnecting with an old friend you thought you’d never see again.

The “Dungeon” for Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant, titled Vesper’s Host, began operation on October 11. This update brought forth a variety of new items, including four unique Legendary weapons that can now be obtained.

Although details about all four weapons’ perks are yet to be revealed fully, initial indications suggest that each possesses the potential for meta usage, but one seems exceptionally promising. Notably, the Pyroelectric Propellant is a distinctive Adaptive Frame Arc Auto Rifle operating at 600 RPM – a specification unseen in a new Auto since August 2021’s Season of Lost.

It’s no wonder that the long-awaited representation of this archetype has been warmly welcomed by players, as 600 RPMs are often deemed the most powerful for PvE. However, its appeal doesn’t stop there. This gear, reminiscent of Braytech, can boast some exceptional traits, such as Closing Time, Strategist, and Jolting Feedback.

Destiny 2’s new Dungeon Auto Rifle is the first of its kind for 3 yearsPyroelectric Propellant can roll with Jolting Feedback, Strategist, and Closing Time, among other perks.

Using Revenant’s seasonal artifact, which encourages Arc and Stasis builds, the weapon’s ability to deliver repeated damage (Jolting Feedback) will be particularly powerful. Combined with Strategist, Pyroelectric comes very close to resembling Destiny’s original Zhalo Supercell, without the chain lightning.

A great alternative option could be the duo of Eddy Current and Onslaught, which boosts reload speed and firing rate following a sprint and upon making kills, respectively.

Just like all items dropped in dungeons, Pyroelectric Propellant can’t be created manually; instead, you’ll have to rely on luck when it comes to getting a particular version. For Guardians who haven’t defeated Vesper’s Host in Contest Mode, repeated runs of the Revenant dungeon will be necessary if they hope to obtain the Ice Breaker. Thus, additional incentives for replaying the endgame activity are always appreciated.
