Destiny 2’s Best Mirror Imago SMG Roll for PvE & PvP

Destiny 2’s latest update, Heresy Act 2, brought in new desirable weapons. One weapon, however, has been largely overlooked despite being a significant threat in its compact size.

Destiny 2 received new attractive weapons with the Heresy Act 2 update, but one small weapon has gone unnoticed, even though it poses a big problem.

Cyclical as it is, not all of Destiny 2’s weapon types are considered meta at any one time, and Submachine Guns have long been out of favor in all areas of the sandbox.

That’s partially because of the pocket-sized primary missing out on damage buffs others received in The Final Shape but also due to a lack of worthwhile perk combos. Fortunately, Heresy Act 2’s Mirror Imago is the best sign yet that Bungie’s keen to give SMGs a place.

Like the entirety of Heresy’s seasonal arsensal, Strand SMG Mirror Imago can be obtained from the Nether and Court of Blades activities as well as the Tome of Want.

Regardless of the means you choose to go about farming, these are the rolls you’ll want.

Mirror Imago PvE & PvP god rolls – Meta analysis

PvE God RollPvP God Roll
Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
Magazine: Tactical Mag
Perk 1: Overflow
Perk 2: Sword Logic
Masterwork: Stability
Barrel: Smallbore
Magazine: Accurized Rounds
Perk 1: To The Pain or Moving Target
Perk 2: Sword Logic
Masterwork: Range

Whether you’re hunting Mirror Imago for PvE or PvP, the only perk that matters in column 2 is Sword Logic. This received a sizable nerf in the latter activity with Destiny 2’s March 11 patch to curb the power of Redrix’s Estoc, but it still provides an incredibly potent, stacking damage buff whenever an opponent is defeated.

In situations where you’re not engaging in combat with other Guardians, it’s best to use the perk called “Overflow.” This will ensure your magazine remains full and reloads it beyond its usual limit whenever an ammo pickup is found, reducing reload times significantly.

For Crucible, on the other hand, it’s a toss up between To The Pain and Moving Target. Both provide boosted aim assist and the former can scale higher but requires setup. If you can, try both and see which feels more consistent for you.

When it comes to the remaining perks, you’ll want to prioritize anything that boosts Stability and Range for PvE and PvP respectively – same goes for Masterworks.

That’s a wrap on Mirror Imago but if you’re looking for more meta recommendations for Episode Heresy, check out the god rolls for Lotus-Eater and Guardian Games‘ The Title you should be on the lookout for.
