2021 has been an exciting year for Destiny gamers, and we’re eagerly awaiting the next stage in the game’s journey – The Edge of Fate. More information about this new chapter will be unveiled during a special livestream event on May 6th, with the broadcast starting at 9AM Pacific Time/12PM Eastern Time.
During the upcoming event, developers will delve into details about the initial expansion titled “The Edge of Fate,” and there may be additional revelations. Bungie stated this in a press release, emphasizing that after the events of “The Final Shape,” which significantly impacted your Guardian and the Vanguard, the narrative seems to have opened up to endless possibilities.
The structure of the story, however, has undergone a change. After the release of The Final Shape last year, Bungie unveiled modifications in their content delivery strategy, moving from Seasons to Episodes. Simultaneously, they revealed Destiny 2’s future as Codename: Frontiers.
From Destiny: Edge of Fate onwards, you can expect two expansions, with four significant updates planned annually. With the conclusion of the episodic content, fans have been yearning for more details about Destiny 2’s future. Unfortunately, any specific schedule or plan has been kept under wraps so far.
In September, Bungie unveiled plans for Destiny 2’s upcoming expansion, code-named “Apollo.” Based on their roadmap, this expansion is slated to launch in summer 2025. Apollo is a paid expansion featuring new narratives, locations, missions, and more. But it’s not the only update you can expect for the game. Bungie also has another full expansion titled “Behemoth,” set for winter 2025, with two significant updates leading up to spring of next year as well.
