As a gamer eagerly anticipating this year’s edition of the event, the developer has given us a sneak peek into what we can expect during their Revenant Act 2 livestream on November 12. They revealed some key details such as the start date of the event and even teased a fresh new weapon to add to my arsenal!
As an excited enthusiast, here’s what I’ve gathered about The Dawning 2024 so far – the upcoming event that has me buzzing! It looks like we’ll have a fresh lineup of weapons and armor to collect this time around. Stay tuned for more details as they become available!
Start date and end date
The event “Dawning 2024” will start on December 10 at 5 pm UTC every week reset. Bungie hasn’t specified an end date yet, but if we look at the Festival of the Lost event from Halloween as a reference, players might anticipate it to last for around three weeks, ending on December 31.
New and Reprised weapons
In the year 2024 during The Dawning event, the Mistral Lift will make its debut as a fresh addition to our arsenal. This weapon boasts a Void element and operates on an Adaptive Burst frame, discharging a three-shot burst every time you pull the trigger.
Historically, the archetype has often been overshadowed by Precise or Aggressive playstyles, but Mistral Lift offers some powerful perk combinations. During the live demo, they demonstrated one such duo: Withering Gaze teamed up with Bait and Switch.
Using Mistal Lift, a previously underused weapon perk in Destiny 2, might significantly boost the effectiveness of Linear Fusion Rifles in PvE, potentially sparking a return to popularity for this type of weapon within the game’s meta.

In the words of Bungie, The Dawning 2024 features a “cosmic space dragon” theme. This year, the armor and matching Ornaments can be bought using Silver or Bright Dust, as usual. As of now, only the Warlock set has been unveiled, which you can view below.
The Dawning 2024 activities
Cookie baking returns as the core seasonal activity for The Dawning 2024, though with some key changes that should streamline the process.
Primarily, the sourcing options for some ingredients will be broadened to be more flexible. To illustrate, Dark Frosting, an ingredient that was exclusively obtained from Stasis final blows, will now also be accessible through the Strand.
Similarly, the drop rates for all items will go up everywhere. Gifting items to NPCs will bring rewards that could contain Dawning Engrams. These engrams can focus on certain weapon drops and may even roll with two perks at once.
