Destiny 2 Rushdown Guide – Boss Rush Challenge, Rewards, And Encounters Explained

Just like the Pantheon in design but far surpassing it in complexity, the Rushdown mode in Destiny 2 for Guardian Games 2025 is an innovative addition. Players face off against five progressively challenging bosses without any breaks or rally points in between. A well-balanced and powerful gear setup is crucial due to this continuous battleflow. It’s important to make sure your team works harmoniously, and communication among team members is key. Your performance during each encounter directly affects your score. The quicker you complete each round and the fewer deaths you sustain, the higher your final tally will be.

In this game, the boss characters are created through storylines from campaigns, seasonal events, and exotic missions. These bosses can be faced at three different levels: Warm-Up, Standard, or Expert. The Standard and Expert levels include additional challenges that make each encounter harder, plus revive tokens. Be mindful of these tokens to avoid running out during gameplay.

As a gamer, I find that conserving revive tokens increases my overall score. While running Rushdown with a fireteam is more effective, the game offers class-based matchmaking if you don’t have a full team. The timer is present, but finishing an encounter extends it, keeping the pressure manageable. Our first run of all five bosses on Standard difficulty took us just over nine minutes.

As a participant in the Guardian Games, I must first connect with Eva Levante within the Tower’s confines to unlock Rushdown. Failing to do so means any advancements made during this activity won’t contribute towards my overall class tally for the competition. To engage Expert mode, all that’s required is successfully completing at least one Standard or Warm-Up run through.

Destiny 2 Rushdown bosses

During the first seven days of Guardian Games, a new set of five bosses will appear each day after the daily reset. We’ll make sure to keep this guide updated once we have the full list of bosses for the Rushdown activity. Each battle will transport you to the original location of the boss fight, so you might end up back at the conclusion of the Witch Queen campaign or in the spooky parts of the Moon.

In the current scenario, Guardians should prepare to encounter several adversaries: Praxis, Riven’s Voice, Dominus Ghaul’s Nightmare, Zydron’s Nightmare, and Savathun, the Queen of Witches. After defeating each boss, players must make a beeline for a Guardian Games flag to initiate the next battle. Keep in mind that during this transition period, the timer steadily decreases, so it’s advisable to reach the flag promptly rather than delaying the move.

Destiny 2 Rushdown rewards

Hey there! Just like every time Guardian Games roll around, there’s a fresh weapon waiting for us gamers – the Keraunios, an impressive Arc trace rifle. If you missed out on last year’s event, don’t worry, the Allstar Vector Skimmer is making a comeback! Like before, during this year’s Guardian Games, you’ll get a temporary version of the Skimmer to test out. But if you want to keep it forever in your Vault, you’ll need to conquer the Drop In quest.

Successfully completing three fights in any Rushdown game setting ensures a Guardian Games weapon will appear during that playthrough. There are five rankings: bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond. Achieving high scores in Expert mode increases the likelihood of obtaining fully Masterworked Guardian Games weapons.
