Destiny 2: Players frustrated with PvP progression in Vanguard side quests

As a gamer with limited PvP skills, I can’t help but feel frustrated when it comes to Destiny 2’s Vanguard side quests and the progression system in PvE activities. The current setup seems to heavily favor those who excel in PvP, leaving us “dogshit” players struggling to keep up.

In a recent Reddit thread initiated by user SausageMahoney073, Destiny 2 gamers are expressing their discontent regarding the Vanguard missions and underwhelming advancement in cooperative player vs environment (PvE) engagements such as Strikes.

I mean sure, technically I CAN not play PvP, but when Crucible only gives 10%, how much would Strikes give? I’m guessing 5%. As someone who is utter dog shit at PvP, I am not having a great start to my morning

Summary

  • Players are unhappy with the low progression rewards in Strikes, receiving only 5% completion per activity.
  • Some players suggest that harder strike completions should offer a higher percentage to balance the progression.
  • There are mixed opinions on whether Gambit provides a better alternative to PvP for Vanguard quest progression.

Vanguard Quest Frustration

TyeKiller77 and other players have raised concerns about the significantly lower completion rates they encounter in Destiny 2’s Strikes as opposed to Crucible matches. Meanwhile, TovarishchRed voiced frustration over the game design that seemingly compels players into PvP encounters for advancement progression.

Gambit as an Alternative

Some players, such as flyingthrubruh, advocate for trying out Gambit as an engaging replacement to Player versus Player (PvP) activities. Conversely, valtboy23 and other players express frustration over the restricted possibilities for advancing in Vanguard without focusing on PvP.

Community Suggestions

As an avid gamer of Vanguard, I strongly believe that adding patrol objectives and heroic public events to quest lines could significantly enhance my gaming experience. This approach would introduce more variety in the tasks I undertake while progressing through the game. Furthermore, it would contribute to a fairer progression system, ensuring that all players have equal opportunities to complete quests and advance regardless of their individual skill levels or group size.
