Destiny 2 players can get an iconic Exotic from Xur usually locked behind DLC

As a seasoned Destiny 2 player with over a decade of experience under my belt, I must say that this week’s appearance of Xur selling the legendary Gjallarhorn is nothing short of nostalgic bliss! The weapon, which holds a special place in the hearts of many veterans, was first peddled by the enigmatic vendor 10 years ago to the day.

As a seasoned Destiny 2 gamer, I’ve got some thrilling news! The mysterious merchant with the coveted goods is back at the Tower this week, and guess what? He’s peddling something truly extraordinary!

In the early stages of the game franchise, the weapon known as Gjallarhorn was exceptionally desirable due to its scarcity and unique strength as an Exotic heavy in the year 2014. It wasn’t until the release of the Rise of Iron expansion in 2016 that it became more accessible for players to obtain this sought-after piece of equipment.

A fantastic reason for anyone not yet possessing Gjallarhorn to make a trip to Xur this week is that the exciting news doesn’t end there. This week, you can acquire Catalysts for Le Monarque and Polaris Lance, two weapons of great importance in the meta-game, each for 71 Strange Coins.

It’s unclear whether the appearance of Gjallarhorn in Xur’s store is a special occasion-only event or if it will become a regular surprise. Since Gjallarhorn has never been sold by Xur in the sequel before, it seems more likely that this is a unique occurrence for a specific milestone.
