Destiny 2 Heresy Update: Premium Event Feature Now Free!

Before the focus shifts entirely to “Edge of Fate” in Destiny 2, the upcoming significant content update is set to bring about substantial alterations to a premium feature that’s closely connected to special events.

Just like how each Destiny 2 season has a progression track called the Season Rewards, Event Cards offer temporary goals linked to special occasions like The Dawning and Festival of the Lost.

In this game, completing tasks and earning rewards for each task has always been complimentary. However, some rewards from Event Cards necessitate purchasing a premium version using real money.

As of May 9, that will no longer be the case.

Event Home explained

The Event Center is now redesigned as the main location for upcoming events, starting with Destiny 2’s Heavy Metal PvP mode on May 9th, as confirmed in Bungie’s April 24th Tweet. Going forward, all future events will follow the Event Center’s new format, which incorporates a fresh Event Token currency system.

The tokens you’ll acquire are solely obtainable via gameplay, by successfully fulfilling particular tasks similar to how Event Cards functioned. These objectives are categorized into daily and weekly challenges. The tokens amassed from these accomplishments can be traded for weapons or materials at a specialized Rewards Store.

A fresh product named “Reroll Chips” is set to launch together with Heavy Metal’s Event Hub. As suggested by its name, these chips can be utilized to swap an undesired daily challenge with a new one, either earned through “Rank Tracks” or purchased directly from the Eververse store using real money.

During Bungie’s Heresy Act 3 broadcast, it was unveiled that Heavy Metal is a multiplayer versus (PvP) team game centered around vehicles. In this mode, players take control of either a Fallen Brig or a Drake tank, engaging in combat.

With the arrival of Update 8.2.6, a new feature called “Rite of the Nine” is being introduced. This is a temporary PvE event that focuses on dungeons and offers a variety of previously used weapons as rewards.

Update 8.2.6 brings along the Rite of the Nine, an exclusive PvE event that takes place in dungeons. It features weapons from the past for players to collect.
