Today, I’m thrilled about the release of The Edge of Fate expansion for Destiny 2! Just like any big update, there might be a few minor glitches that need addressing. However, it’s fantastic to see Destiny 2 climbing up the Steam charts, currently sitting as the eleventh most played game on SteamDB. There’s an unusual issue some players are running into – their cursor seems to be limited in its movement. This problem seems exclusive to PC users, but fortunately, the community has already found a solution for it.
Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate is causing an unusual problem for some players: restricting their cursor
Limiting your cursor’s movement could appear as an unusual and trivial predicament, however, it renders the game virtually unplayable using a mouse and keyboard setup. A user on the Destiny 2 subreddit articulated this issue, likening it to an “invisible boundary” and detailing that they “can’t move [the cursor] to the right or down… I can’t pick quests or alter items in my inventory…” Another user on Steam voiced the same problem in the community discussions page, with several other users echoing their concerns. Fortunately, a couple of users have suggested a potential resolution for this issue.
It seems like the problem might be related to the game’s resolution. A user mentioned that they reverted their resolution back to 1920 x 1080 using a controller, and since then, the mouse has been functioning normally. However, a higher resolution of 3840 x 2160 is causing issues with the mouse for this user specifically. On Reddit, someone suggested that the Nvidia app could be altering the in-game resolution settings, which might be the root cause of the problem. If you’re using the Nvidia app and experiencing similar issues, it could be worth checking your in-game resolution settings to see if this resolves the issue for you as well.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter – the ‘Frontiers’ era for Destiny 2! A few months back, Bungie, our beloved developers, unveiled a two-year roadmap for expansions. Instead of one major expansion annually as in previous years, they are now planning to release two smaller ones each year. The next phase of the ‘Frontiers’ is set to launch in September and will be known as ‘Ash & Iron’. Let’s embark on these new adventures together!
