Destiny 2: 4 forgotten Stasis Exotics will be meta in Episode Revenant

As a seasoned Guardian who’s been through countless battles across the cosmos, I can confidently say that Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant is shaping up to be a game-changer. The focus on Stasis is going to shake up the meta we’ve grown accustomed to, and I can’t wait to get my hands on these new toys.

The much-awaited Episode Revenant for Destiny 2 is nearly here, and as always, significant changes are on the horizon with major game updates like this. For looter shooter enthusiasts, known as Guardians, prepare for a significant alteration in the game’s dynamics upon release due to balance adjustments and an entirely fresh seasonal artifact.

In simpler terms, Bungie uses the latter method as a main approach for implementing significant game-wide adjustments, some of which might seem too powerful (but only temporarily). This time, they’re focusing more on enhancing Arc and Stasis abilities.

Ever since The Final Shape debuted in June, Solar, Strand, Void, and indirectly Prismatic have dominated as the go-to meta subclasses. However, Revenant is set to challenge this hierarchy and potentially overturn it.

Wicked Implement

  • Source: Monument to Lost Lights
  • Intrinsic: Creeping Attrition – Rapidly landing precision hits causes targets to become slowed.
  • Trait: Tithing Harvest – While Creeping Attrition is active, destroying Stasis crystals or landing precision final blows creates a Stasis shard. The Stasis shard returns to you, and collecting Stasis shards refills the magazine.
  • Catalyst: Grants Headstone and Hadopelagic Tribute perks.

In the game The Final Shape, Bungie boosted Wicked Implement’s power, but its strong emphasis on Stasis may make this Exotic Scout Rifle too powerful. The main factors contributing to this are the seasonal abilities Crystalline Converter and Served Cold, which enhance Stasis crystal generation and provide additional class ability energy upon picking up a Stasis Shard respectively.

In addition, the Anti-Barrier Scout Rifle reappears in Revenant. This weapon, known as the Malefic Tool, inherently slows down and freezes enemies, making it capable of neutralizing all three champions.

To round things off, the precise weapon known as Wind Chill offers additional layers of Frost Armor upon precision strikes, enhancing your survival prospects.

Salvation’s Grip

  • Source: The Stasis Prototype Exotic quest
  • Intrinsic: Cryocannon – Charged projectiles create a pattern of Stasis crystals on impact and freeze nearby targets.
  • Trait: Uncharged projectiles deal bonus damage to Stasis crystals and frozen targets. Rapidly destroying multiple Stasis crystals reloads this weapon from reserves.
  • Catalyst: N/A

In the thrilling Season of the Deep, I found myself captivated by the complete overhaul of Salvation’s Grip! Bungie generously bestowed upon it two unique firing modes. One mode unleashes a wave-like freeze effect across the battlefield, while the other delivers massive single-target damage – making my gameplay experience more dynamic and exciting than ever!

In The Revenant, the frequently underestimated launcher can enjoy a twofold benefit from seasonal bonuses, maximizing the use of Crystalline Converter and Served Cold, in addition to profiting from launcher-specific perks like Rapid Impact and Kinetic Impact.

The first ability temporarily boosts the reload speed for the character class, whereas the second one functions similarly to Kinetic Tremors but exclusively for Grenade Launchers, causing destructive shockwaves when continuous damage is inflicted.

Ager’s Scepter

  • Source: Monument to Lost Lights
  • Intrinsic: Ager’s Call – Final blows with this weapon generate a slowing burst around the defeated target.
  • Trait: Rega’s Refrain – Stasis final blows transfer ammo to this weapon’s magazine from reserves.
  • Catalyst: Drains Super energy to overflow the magazine and empower the weapon’s beam with bonus damage. Also slows and freezes targets. Can only be activated when Super energy is full.

In the current game environment, Trace Rifles are underperforming because of their rapid ammo usage. Conversely, Ager’s Scepter stands poised to gain significantly from Revenant’s seasonal bonuses. The “Brain Freeze” ability, which causes frozen enemies to slow down adjacent opponents, will further establish Ager’s as a top-tier weapon for crowd control. However, that’s not the only advantage it offers.

In the aftermath of a shattered Stasis crystal, Hail the Storm intensifies the chill, causing twice as much harm and hindering the movement of any enemies within its impact zone. Similarly, Wind Chill can also be employed, but since Traces make precise hits more challenging, the effectiveness may not be consistent for everyone.

Verglas Curve

  • Source: Monument to Lost Lights
  • Intrinsic: Hail Barrage – Final blows with this weapon grant Stasis arrows. Your next hip-fire shot will fire all of them in a single volley.
  • Trait: Hail Storm – Direct hits with Stasis arrows freeze combatants and slow opposing Guardians. Stasis arrows that impact the environment create Stasis crystals.
  • Catalyst: Freezing or slowing a target grants this weapon faster draw speed for a short period of time.

As a gamer, let me tell you, when it comes to Stasis crystal generation, Verglas Curve reigns supreme, with Power weapons and class abilities being the only exceptions. That’s why Hail the Storm is going to make the Stasis bow a game-changer in PvE encounters. This bad boy will lay waste to hordes of enemies, slowing them massively and dealing area-of-effect damage every time it shatters.

Equipped with a pile of Hail Barrage, a single salvo of swiftly fired arrows releases five Stasis crystals, which can easily eliminate an entire room full of enemies on Shatter. To make things even more powerful, enhancing the impact by employing Revenant’s Tonics will amplify the effects of Hail the Storm even further.

On October 8th, the game “Revenant” will be released. For further details about “Tonics,” along with all other features included in “Revenant,” please visit our guide and main resource center for comprehensive information.
