‘Despicable Me 4’ Gets Peacock Streaming Date in Time for Halloween

As a movie critic who’s seen his fair share of animated films and has been known to utter the occasional “it’s minion-meltingly adorable” or “more grueling than Gru’s evil lair,” I must say that “Despicable Me 4” is an absolute treat for fans of the franchise.


This Halloween promises an unusually mischievous charm! Gather your yellow face paint and overalls as the fourth installment of “Despicable Me” from Universal and Illumination will be available for streaming on Peacock starting October 31st.

Following its summer theater debut on July 3rd, the fourth installment raked in a staggering $954.1 million worldwide, with $360.8 million earned domestically and an additional $593.3 million from international markets. This made it the first animated film series to surpass the $5 billion mark globally at the box office. The Despicable Me saga, including its Minions spinoffs, can now be streamed on Peacock.

The ensemble features Steve Carell portraying the endearing supervillain Gru, Kristen Wiig playing his spouse Lucy Wilde, Pierre Coffin lending his voice to the energetic minions, joined by Joey King, Miranda Cosgrove, Stephen Colbert, Sofía Vergara, Dana Gaier, Will Ferrell and others.

Chris Renaud and Patrick Delage, who was making his first appearance as a feature film director, were at the helm of ‘Despicable Me 4’. This production was overseen by Chris Meledandri and Brett Hoffman, while Mike White and Ken Daurio handled the scriptwriting. Pharrell Williams contributed original songs for the movie.
