In 2025, the sequel to Descenders titled Descenders Next will be available for both PC and Xbox platforms via Game Pass. While this new game is a follow-up to the original Descenders, the publisher playfully clarified that there never was a Descenders 2.
In the sequel to its 2019 release that focused solely on downhill mountain biking, Descenders is now branching out by incorporating a range of other extreme sports like snowboarding and mountain boarding. Additionally, players can expect diverse landscapes such as grasslands, snowy terrains, and arid mountains to explore.

Apart from gameplay, the title also includes a character creator and a reputation system enabling players to acquire fresh outfits, equipment, and boards, plus editing resources for documenting your skiing journeys. Notably, Monstercat, an acclaimed electronic music label, is contributing the game’s soundtrack.
Since Descenders Next is slated for Xbox Game Pass, it remains undecided if it will appear on PlayStation or Nintendo systems. Given that the original game launched on multiple platforms, there’s a chance that Descenders Next may follow suit at a later time.
