As an enthusiastic admirer, I’m thrilled to share that Denise Rehrig, a seasoned news-and-talk producer who previously held a key position at “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” has been appointed as the executive producer of ABC News’ leading streaming program, “Prime With Linsey Davis.” This captivating show airs weeknights on ABC News Live.
Rehrig will oversee the editorial strategy, create stories, and handle daily operations. She will be supervised by Seni Tienabeso, who serves as Vice President for ABC News Live and Special Units.
Almin Karamehmedovic, president of ABC News, expressed his excitement as Denise Rehrig returns to ABC News for a new position. In a statement, he said, ‘Denise’s exceptional editorial skills and extensive cross-platform experience make her an invaluable asset. I believe her leadership will elevate our show to greater success, providing captivating journalism that resonates with our audience each night.’
2024 saw Rehrig spearheading Amazon Prime’s “Election Night Live with Brian Williams,” a trial by the streaming service to explore potential news programming during significant events. Before this, she served as co-executive producer for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” During her tenure, she played a key role in live broadcasts of high-profile events such as political conventions and post-Super Bowl specials. Additionally, she was instrumental in updating the social media approach, focusing more on Instagram and TikTok platforms.
She had previously worked at ABC News as a senior broadcast producer at “Good Morning America.”
Tienabeso praised Denise as an exceptional live TV producer with exceptional storytelling skills who possesses a comprehensive grasp of modern media. He noted her keen intuition and cooperative attitude will greatly benefit ‘Prime.’ Tienabeso expressed great enthusiasm for Denise’s return to ABC News, where she will head the prestigious streaming news team,” said the statement.
Rehrig kick-started her professional journey at CNBC, where she was responsible for creating financial and political shows such as “Squawk on the Street” and “Fast Money.” She earned her journalism degree from the Mizzou School of Journalism, which is located at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.
