Demi Lovato and Carson Daly Among Guests for Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day Events (EXCLUSIVE)

As a seasoned cinema devotee with a soft spot for mental health advocacy, I must say this event has piqued my interest! The star-studded lineup and meaningful discussions at the Project Healthy Minds World Mental Health Day Festival and Gala are truly commendable.

Project Healthy Minds, a non-profit organization focusing on mental health technology led by Millennials and Gen Z, has announced the attendees for its third annual World Mental Health Day Festival scheduled for October 10th in New York City’s Hudson Yards, and the guests for its second annual World Mental Health Day Gala which will commence that same evening at Spring Studios.

2024’s festival lineup features Demi Lovato, Michael D. Ratner (CEO of OBB Media), Kathy Hochul (New York Governor), Brian Koppelman (showrunner and producer), Andy Dunn (CEO of Bonobos), Gary Gulman (comedian), Julie Rice (co-founder of SoulCycle) and Carson Daly (from the “Today” show). The gala attendees include Laura Benanti, Paul Walter Hauser, Howard Schultz and Leo Pearlman. The gala is hosted by Carson Daly, with Savannah Guthrie from the “Today” show as co-host, serving as a Dinner Chair alongside her husband Mike Feldman. Kyle Richards, a producer and reality TV star, has also been added as a Project Healthy Minds gala dinner chair.

As a movie reviewer, I’m delighted to extend a warm welcome to this year’s cast of visionaries who have joined our cinematic universe, each committed to painting a brighter picture of mental health on the silver screen. The passion these filmmakers bring to the table is nothing short of breathtaking, and we are proud to serve as their stage, offering them an opportunity to share their heartfelt stories with the world.

At the upcoming event, Chance the Rapper will be the inaugural recipient of the “Project Healthy Minds Trailblazer of the Year Award”. Meanwhile, Michael Ratner will receive the “Storyteller of the Year” award, which Demi Lovato is presenting. The “Humanitarian of the Year” award goes to The Yabuki Foundation, and the “Corporate Visionary of the Year” accolade is being bestowed upon KPMG.

Daly commented, ‘It’s similar to prom for us at Project Healthy Minds.’ As a proud board member, I have an excellent view of all the remarkable efforts put into this event. We’re deeply grateful to everyone participating and sponsoring – they are instrumental in supporting our cause.

The grand opening event for the World Mental Health Day Festival commences with “The Cost of Zeal: Mental Health in the Entrepreneur’s Odyssey,” featuring panelists Dunn and Rice, who will delve into the seldom-explored psychological strain associated with entrepreneurial triumph. The final act, “Jokes for Advancement: Comedy’s Influence on How Americans Perceive & Address Mental Health,” wraps up the gathering, with panelist Gulman discussing how comedians can leverage their influence to promote mental health consciousness.
