There may be spoilers in the rest of the review
As a huge fan of creature features, I was immediately hooked by the premise of Deep Freeze. It all kicks off at an Antarctic research station where a team of scientists and workers are drilling. They’re there to continue their research, but things quickly go wrong. A mysterious creature starts attacking them, and one by one, the team members begin to disappear. It’s a classic setup, and I’m already on the edge of my seat!
Despite working together, the team members’ disagreements quickly surface, and they need to overcome them to survive. This is true even if doing so means grappling with difficult choices in their attempt to save the world.
Verdict on Deep Freeze
Recap
A team of scientists and staff stationed at a faraway Antarctic base find themselves under attack by a mysterious creature. As members of the team disappear, they must fight to uncover the source of the attacks and survive.
Best Parts
The movie’s setting is its strongest feature, effectively isolating the characters and shaping their experiences.
Worst Parts
Ultimately, this movie feels like a low-budget imitation of The Thing. It doesn’t deliver the same thrills, suspense, or memorable monsters, and the acting isn’t particularly strong, resulting in a film that’s easily forgotten.
Final Thoughts –Deep Freeze is a cheap The Thing Knock-Off.
