After spending 30 years, “Inside Edition” anchor Deborah Norville is moving on from the daytime news magazine show, but she’s not leaving the world of syndicated programming altogether.
Starting autumn 2025, Norville is set to take over hosting duties for “The Perfect Line,” a syndicated trivia game show. On Wednesday’s episode of “Inside Edition,” she announced her decision to leave the show. In her statement, she explained that she declined an offer to stay on, as there are other things she wishes to accomplish and locations she wants to experience that her current position doesn’t allow for. Norville joins a growing list of TV hosts and anchors who have recently decided to move on, reflecting the ongoing trend of industry downsizing.
She expressed her gratitude and respect for being part of ‘Inside Edition’ throughout the years during a broadcast. This significant moment in time has prompted her to consider her future, and after careful thought, she has chosen to leave ‘Inside Edition’. They graciously offered her the chance to stay, but there are personal aspirations and ventures she wishes to pursue that can’t be accomplished while remaining here. Therefore, at the conclusion of this season, she will be departing. She has some intriguing plans in motion, which she will discuss further, but for now, she wants to acknowledge what a valuable opportunity it was to head ‘Inside Edition’. Working alongside such a gifted crew and being welcomed into your homes daily is an honor she doesn’t underestimate.
Norville, known for his work on “Today,” initially teamed up with “Inside Edition” in 1995 following a period as an anchor and reporter at CBS News.
For the last three decades, Deborah’s influential role, both in front of the camera and behind-the-scenes, has been instrumental in the achievements of ‘Inside Edition’. As expressed by executive producer Charles Lachman, “Deborah’s impact on our show has been profound, and I eagerly anticipate witnessing her further expand her remarkable broadcast career in her upcoming phase.
Inside Edition, Inc., creators of the program “Inside Edition,” distributes it through CBS Media Ventures. Additionally, CBS Media Ventures is responsible for another show titled “The Perfect Line,” which has officially been given approval for airing in fall 2025. The CBS Stations group initially acquired “The Perfect Line” back in December, and now, the show has been purchased by stations representing nearly 90% of the nation.
Upcoming board game “The Perfect Line,” designed by CMYK, poses questions on a variety of subjects like global events, popular culture, sports, science, and more. In each round, participants are provided with a category and must arrange related items or individuals in order – for instance, arranging six actors based on their global box office earnings. The objective is to craft “the perfect line” by getting the sequence right, while avoiding elimination at the end of every round. The last player remaining gets to play a final round with the potential to win $10,000.
