Death Stranding Movie Reportedly Finds A Director Who Seems Like A Great Fit

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that my anticipation for the Death Stranding movie has reached new heights! The news that Michael Sarnoski, the visionary behind A Quiet Place: Day One, is set to direct the live-action adaptation of the Hideo Kojima-directed game, only serves to fuel my excitement. This promising development promises an unforgettable cinematic journey into the enigmatic world of Death Stranding!

As I, a passionate gamer, excitedly share this news, I recently learned that I’ll be the one helming the upcoming project – thanks to Deadline for the heads-up! This movie is a joint venture between A24 and Kojima Productions. While I’m knee-deep in post-production for my next film, The Death of Robin Hood, which boasts Hugh Jackman as our legendary hero, this new project has me equally thrilled.

Last year, A Quiet Place: Day One garnered widespread acclaim, and my directorial debut, Pig, back in 2015, was also a smash hit among the critics. Can’t wait to see how these experiences shape this upcoming film!

At this stage in its creation, there isn’t much information available about the Death Stranding movie. It is speculated that the film will delve into the catastrophic event known as Death Stranding, which threatens humanity’s survival. Hideo Kojima has shared his vision for the movie to differentiate it from other video game adaptations. On a separate note, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is set to launch on June 26 for PS5.

In the upcoming installment, you’ll recognize some characters from the initial game, such as Norman Reedus portraying Sam Porter Bridges, Lea Seydoux playing Fragile, and Troy Baker taking on Higgs. Additionally, new characters will be voiced by a variety of well-known actors and filmmakers, including George Miller (Mad Max), Elle Fanning, Fatih Akin, Shioli Kutsuna, Alastair Duncan, Alissa Jung, Lucas Larinelli, and Deborah Wilson.

If you haven’t seen it yet, take a look at the latest trailer for the game, where it appears that Solid Snake might make an appearance in Death Stranding 2. Additionally, there seems to be a battle reminiscent of Pacific Rim, featuring Heartman – a character modeled after director Nicolas Winding Refn.
