At the SXSW 2025 Special Panel, Hideo Kojima, the creative genius behind the acclaimed action game Death Stranding, excited fans yesterday with the announcement that the sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, will be exclusively available on PlayStation 5 starting June 26th, 2025. The unveiling was accompanied by a captivating 10-minute trailer offering a glimpse into Sam Porter Bridges’ upcoming adventure.
The trailer combined unique storytelling and stunning visuals. Featuring actors Norman Reedus and Troy Baker, Kojima provided intriguing details about the game’s production, fueling excitement for what could be one of the most highly-anticipated releases in 2025. Additionally, it was confirmed that pre-orders will start on March 17th at 10 AM local time.

On the Beach, priced at $69.99, will be available for purchase in stores. If you opt for the Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99) or the Collector’s Edition ($229.99), although these are more expensive, they offer additional benefits. Specifically, these versions grant early access to the game starting June 24th, 2025, a full 48 hours before its official public release!

In addition to the Digital Deluxe Version, you’ll receive extra game elements such as Gold-ranked Battle Skeletons and a Level 1 Machine Gun, making it more enticing for enthusiasts to join right away. On the other hand, the Collector’s Edition is tailored for ardent fans, offering a 15-inch Magellan Man statue, a 3-inch Dollman figurine, artwork cards, and even a letter penned by Kojima himself (not to mention all the digital extras).
