As a seasoned cinema devotee who has witnessed countless heartwarming stories unfold on the silver screen, I eagerly anticipate the return of “Dear Santa, The Series” to Hulu and ABC-Owned Television Stations this November. Having grown up with the magic of Christmas letters to Santa and the joy they bring, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia at the prospect of immersing myself in another season of this enchanting docuseries.
I’m thrilled to share that the heartwarming series “Dear Santa” will make its comeback on two platforms! Starting November 24, you can catch it on ABC-Owned Television Stations, and a day later on Hulu, for its exciting second season. Can’t wait to join you in this emotional journey once again!
The documentary series, debuting in 2022, delves into the U.S. Postal Service’s long-standing Operation Santa program, which began more than a decade ago. This production is brought to you by Traverse32 and Sweet World Films.
For over 112 years, the USPS Operation Santa has been the heartwarming essence of the holiday season, fostering unity and compassion through selfless acts. Sheila Holman, marketing vice president for USPS, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We eagerly anticipate this year’s installment of the Dear Santa docuseries, which will illuminate this remarkable American tradition. It will demonstrate how even the smallest gestures of kindness can significantly impact lives.
Director and producer Dana Nachman (“Pick of the Litter,” “Batkid Begins”) is set to rejoin the project via Sweet World Films. Alongside her, Brendan Gaul and Brett Henenberg from Traverse32 will serve as executive producers. Additionally, Chelsea Matter, USPS vice president of marketing Sheila Holman, and USPS manager of marketing operations Shalene Starr will also take on executive producer roles.
The upcoming five-episode run focuses on letters written by children to Santa, along with the human helpers Santa hires to fulfill these Christmas dreams, as well as the postal workers who make this program possible. The series features cities such as Atlanta, Denver, New York City, Oklahoma City, and Richmond, Virginia.
This season’s descriptions highlight various Christmas wishes: “A boy deeply passionate about trains, a girl yearning for a pet goldfish and some magical tidiness in her room, a budding female rockstar eager for a shimmering drum set, siblings whose father is currently overseas deployed, a child longing to watch a play with his cancer-battling dad, and numerous selfless children who simply ask Santa to gift others.
In addition to airing on ‘Dear Santa, The Series’, it will also be broadcasted on Localish – ABC’s 24/7 network available through Hulu Live TV (and as a digital subchannel on most ABC stations), as well as on YouTube TV, Vidgo, Fubo, Rockbot, Roku Channel, Tubi, Xumo, Samsung TV Plus, Amazon Prime Video, FreeVee, and FireTV Alexa.
