Deadpool And Wolverine Deleted Scene Reveals Gambit's Fate

As a seasoned gamer and Marvel enthusiast with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a twinge of excitement upon hearing about the potential resurfacing of Channing Tatum’s Gambit. The character has been stuck in development limbo for far too long, and it seems that he might finally get his time to shine again.

Many Marvel appearances were found in Deadpool and Wolverine, among them one from a 20th Century Fox X-Men spin-off that was never produced. Nevertheless, Ryan Reynolds revealed a cut scene involving this character, implying there might be a possibility of his return in future productions.

Among the characters Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) meet in the Void at the end of time is the character portrayed by Channing Tatum as Gambit. Despite being planned to star in a standalone Gambit movie, this project remained stuck in development limbo until 20th Century Fox’s entertainment assets were acquired by Disney in 2019. In the film, the outcome of Gambit and some other heroic comrades was uncertain, with only Laura/X-23 (Dafne Keen) reappearing afterwards. However, in this particular scene, it’s evident that Gambit survived the battle against Cassandra Nova’s horde of villains.

In a subsequent post, Reynolds pointed out that the scene in question is visible on one of the TVA monitors in the background of the movie. Although it might be hard to spot, if you focus on Gambit’s eyes, you can see a reflection of someone employing a Sling Ring to create a portal, likely to save him. This explains his smile at the end of the clip. However, this brings up an intriguing question: Since the Time Variance Authority would have retrieved anyone trapped in the Void through a door, who is utilizing the “Marvel Sparkle Circle” to rescue Gambit?

As a gaming fan, I’m hoping for another Deadpool flick someday that might unveil the mystery. But for now, it seems like Gambit’s got more battles ahead in the future.

Deadpool and Wolverine is still playing in theaters.
