As a dedicated Dead by Daylight player for years now, I’ve seen my fair share of queue times that felt like eternity. But today, the release of the new 2v8 mode has brought an exciting new challenge to the table – or rather, to the game. The community buzz around this fresh gameplay experience is electric, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
As a dedicated fan of Dead by Daylight, I’ve been thrilled to experience the new 2vs8 mode that was released this morning. The community response has been overwhelmingly positive, but it seems that the killer community is encountering an issue: prolonged queue times in the 2vs8 mode. In response, Behaviour Interactive has made some adjustments to alleviate this problem by awarding more Bloodpoints to survivors.
The major problem I encounter with 2v8 is the excessively lengthy killer queue. At this point, increasing survivor bloodpoints earnings to 1000% might even be an enticing incentive due to the prolonged waits. However, aside from that, this version of Dead by Daylight has brought me the most enjoyment in years, and the large player base is a clear indication of its popularity.

To alleviate the long wait times for killers in Dead by Daylight, the game now rewards survivors with a fourfold, or 400%, increase in Bloodpoints – an enticing incentive for joining the survivor queue.
The team admitted that “murderers are facing extended delays” because not enough survivors are online, and expressed optimism that the generous Bloodpoint rewards would encourage more players to join the survivor pool.
The wait times for killers in the queue are currently lengthy due to a shortage of survivor players, leading to fewer people joining as survivors. This incentive could potentially remedy the situation by boosting the number of players signing up as survivors instead. However, keep in mind that this is still subject to adjustment based on the overall player distribution!

For now, the bonus accrued in Dead by Daylight’s new 2v8 mode or regular trials carries over to your Bloodpoint total. Playing as a survivor temporarily rewards you with an exceptionally large amount of Bloodpoints – the biggest developers have ever given out for joining a specific queue. However, keep in mind that Bloodhouse Studios has announced on X that this bonus is “still under consideration” and could be altered based on player numbers. If your goal is to accumulate Bloodpoints quickly, consider jumping into some survivor matches right now.
To kickstart more matches, we’ve boosted the Bloodpoint reward for Survivors. Now, Survivors can face off in pairs as well.
