As a seasoned survivor with countless hours under my belt, I must say the upcoming addition of Taurie Cain to Dead by Daylight’s roster is nothing short of exhilarating! Her unique set of perks promises a refreshing twist on the game’s meta, and I can hardly wait to give them a spin.

As a gamer, I’m super hyped about the upcoming chapter in Dead by Daylight: The Doomed Course, which unveils the new killer, The Houndmaster, and survivor, Taurie Cain. This duo is packing some unique abilities that are sure to shake things up! Now, let me share with you all of Taurie Cain’s perks in this thrilling expansion.

Taurie Cain Perks

Here are all three of Taurie’s perks from the 8.4.0 PTB patch notes:

Invocation: Treacherous Crows

  • When in the Basement near the circle, press the ability button 2 to begin the Invocation. Invocations take 60/60/60 seconds. Other Survivors will see your aura during this and can join an ongoing interaction. Once the Invocation is completed: Completing the Invocation disables that perk for all Survivors.
  • You become injured and broken for the rest of the trial.
  • When a Survivor is in the Terror Radius and the Killer scares a crow, their aura is revealed to all Survivors for 1/1.5/2 seconds.

Clean Break

Once you’ve helped another Survivor recuperate, if simultaneously receiving healing from another Survivor, hit the ability key 1 to enter a Broken state. Approximately after 80/70/60 seconds, you will regain full health.

As a fan, I’d put it this way: When I’m already in a broken state, this bonus feature doesn’t kick in. If I find myself on the brink of death, the effect gets terminated.

Shoulder the Burden

Every trial, if you’re not on the death hook, utilize your ability button 2 to free a hooked Survivor. This action reduces their hook count by one and increases yours by one. Additionally, you’ll scream and become Exposed for 30/25/20 seconds.

Taurie Cain’s abilities hold great promise, and it’ll be intriguing to observe their performance during tests, given that Shoulder the Burden allows players to swap hook states among themselves. As of now, Doomed Course can be found in the Public Test Build (PTB), but will officially debut on the final build as of November 28, 2024.
