DC Studios revealed the logo for Lobo, giving fans a first look at Jason Momoa’s character ahead of his debut in the new DC Universe. Momoa is the first well-known actor from the previous DC movie universe to take on a new role with DC Studios’ leadership, James Gunn and Peter Safran. The version of Lobo Momoa will play will have some differences from the character as seen in the comic books.
DC Shop recently showcased new merchandise to celebrate Lobo’s first appearance in the upcoming Supergirl series from DC Studios. The items include a sweatshirt with a redesigned emblem for Lobo: a winged, flaming skull. The words “Ruthless & Fearless” appear above the skull, with “Lobo” written underneath.

The sweatshirt features Lobo’s name in black letters, each surrounded by red squares. Below the name is the House of El’s “S” symbol, and next to it reads “The Main Man” – Lobo’s famous comic book nickname, which will also be used in the movie.

As a huge fan, I immediately noticed something off about the logo on his jacket. It’s different from the classic “Bite Me, Fanboy” phrase and design you see in the DC Comics. And speaking of details, the skull and wings are pretty much the same in both versions, but in the comics, the skull isn’t actually on fire like it is in the movie – a pretty striking change, honestly!

The first trailer for Supergirl, released in December 2025, introduced fans to Lobo, promising a version of the iconic alien bounty hunter that closely matches the comics. Over the next few weeks, promotional images offered even more detailed glimpses of the character, including a shot of him smiling while riding his motorcycle.

A recent trailer released in March showcased more of Lobo and his first encounters with Milly Alcock’s Supergirl. It expanded on the scene where he arrives on his motorcycle and then playfully asks Supergirl if she’s the same person he met at a bar.

Lobo will appear in this DC movie, but his part is expected to be brief. This is probably intentional, building towards a bigger role for him later on, eventually establishing him as the famous bounty hunter fans know from the comics.
The next DC Universe movie will be Supergirl, hitting theaters in June 2026. Starring Milly Alcock, Eve Ridley, Matthias Schoenaerts, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa, the film follows Kara Zor-El as she travels across the galaxy, protecting a young girl while also pursuing vengeance. Supergirl is scheduled to be released on June 26th.
What To Expect From Lobo in Supergirl

Jason Momoa’s Lobo has appeared in several promotional materials for Supergirl, suggesting he’ll have more than just a quick appearance, though he isn’t expected to be a central character. Fans are now wondering what Momoa’s role will be in the movie and how his character will interact with Supergirl during the main storyline.
Okay, so from what I’m hearing, Lobo isn’t going to be the big bad in this one. They’re really building up Matthias Schoenaerts’ character, Krem, as the main villain, which I’m totally excited about! Lobo will definitely have some cool fight scenes with the heroine, but it sounds like he’ll be more of a supporting player this time around, maybe just a few scenes. But don’t worry, they’re planning to bring him back for a bigger arc in future installments. It’s a smart move, I think – tease him now, then really unleash him later!
With the release of Supergirl approaching, Jason Momoa is expected to be heavily involved in promoting the film, especially since he’s long advocated for this particular role. The movie will introduce his character as a formidable villain within the larger universe, setting the stage for conflicts with other heroes down the line.
