Verdict on DC Down
DC Under Siege” – An action-packed thriller unfolds post an earthquake, confining the President. Initially, it’s a race against time for rescue, but soon transforms into a power struggle aiming to seize control of America. The narrative follows a veteran soldier’s battle to thwart a coup and avert catastrophe while also defending the President from an assassination attempt.
This film combines the fundamental elements of a blockbuster disaster movie with the peril faced by a nation’s leader – in this instance, the President. It employs brief instances of destruction, all digitally created, and maintains an appearance that the President is never truly in jeopardy. The emergency response team performs their duties, interspersed with technical jargon, creating the impression of turmoil without fully immersing viewers in a disaster-stricken environment or suggesting any external events have taken place. While it’s enjoyable and worth watching on one evening, it doesn’t quite manage to convey the sense of urgency or authenticity it aspires to.
