As someone who grew up with the iconic soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” I couldn’t be more thrilled about its 61st season renewal! From my first memory of watching the Brady family in their fictional town of Salem, to witnessing the drama unfold between the Hortons, Carvers, DiMeras, and Kiriakises, this show has been a constant companion in my life.
“Days of Our Lives” has been renewed for its 61st season.
Starting this time around, the third season will be available for streaming only on Peacock, following the iconic soap opera that originally aired on NBC from 1965 until 2022. Over the years, it grew to become NBC’s longest-running drama series. Since moving to Peacock, “Days of Our Lives” has consistently ranked among the top 10 most-watched titles. New episodes are released every weekday, with the series reaching its 15,000th episode on December 2nd.
The news about the renewal of “Days of Our Lives” arrives right before the Day of Days event, a celebration marking the show’s 60th anniversary that will happen at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater this coming Saturday.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’d like to share some behind-the-scenes insights on the soap opera “Days of Our Lives.” This classic series is brought to life by Corday Productions, in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television. Ken Corday graciously takes the reins as executive producer, while Albert Alarr serves as a valuable co-executive producer. The storylines are skillfully crafted by Ron Carlivati, who assumes the role of head writer.
Over the course of six decades, this television series has amassed an impressive total of 62 Emmy Awards. More recently, Dick Van Dyke made history by becoming the oldest-ever recipient of a Daytime Emmy in the guest acting category, triumphing at the grand age of 98 years old.
