Prior to its launch on April 25th, developer Bend Studio has shared fresh insights about Days Gone Remastered‘s accessibility options. In terms of gameplay, an innovative feature will enable players to reduce the overall game speed by 25%, providing them extra time to navigate through challenging scenarios involving large groups of Freakers.
In a blog post, Bend Studio clarified that altering the game speed is beneficial for players who may struggle with multiple inputs during tense situations. With the remastered version introducing a new Horde Assault mode, this feature enables more individuals to appreciate it. Additionally, Days Gone Remastered will introduce various gameplay enhancements such as an option to automatically complete quick-time events on any difficulty level, the ability to reposition the camera during attacks, adjustable haptic vibration intensity, field-of-view modifications, and customizable control settings.
Similar to many other Sony first-party games, accessibility enhancements encompass both the auditory and visual aspects of the game. Bend Studio has incorporated high-contrast settings to aid players in distinguishing key elements within the game, such as protagonist Deacon St. John and the HUD. Additionally, the audio mix has been significantly upgraded and refined.
In video games, particularly Days Gone, if you enjoy hunting for collectibles, you’ll now find audio signals and tactile feedback alerts signaling when you’re near one of the 240 items hidden throughout the game world. Many of these enhanced accessibility features will also be included in the PC version of Days Gone as part of the Broken Roads DLC.
If you’ve got Days Gone on your PlayStation 4, you can bump up to the PS5 version for just $10, but keep in mind that this offer won’t apply if you have the PS Plus version. At the moment, the original physical edition of the game is selling for $32.40 on Amazon if you want to pick it up and upgrade it for your PlayStation 5.
