David Dastmalchian has joined the cast of “Dexter: Resurrection” as a guest star.
Information regarding the character played by “Late Night With the Devil” actor remains undisclosed, except for his name being Gareth.
Filming for the “Dexter” sequel series kicked off in New York City during January, and it’s scheduled to premiere on Paramount+ alongside Showtime this coming summer.
In the series, Michael C. Hall reprises his role as Dexter Morgan. Joining him are Uma Thurman as Charley, David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera, James Remar as Dexter’s father Harry Morgan, and Peter Dinklage portraying Leon Prater.
Krysten Ritter, Neil Patrick Harris, and Eric Stonestreet will appear as special guests in the follow-up television show.
Remember, ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ is distinct from ‘Dexter: Original Sin’, the 2024 prequel series where Patrick Gibson plays a young Dexter transforming into a serial killer. Michael C. Hall still provides the voiceover for Dexter’s inner thoughts in this show as well.
Resurrection” refers to one of the spin-offs of the popular TV show “Dexter,” a serial killer drama that ran on Showtime for eight seasons from 2006 to 2013. A follow-up series titled “Dexter: New Blood” was broadcast in 2021, once again featuring Michael C. Hall as the character Dexter.
The show is overseen by executive producer Clyde Phillips, previously involved with “Dexter.” He’s also back as the showrunner. Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios are among the producers. Alongside Hall, Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns serve as executive producers. Marcos Siega acts as a producing director, while Monica Raymund will direct four episodes, with Siega taking charge of six. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Beyond starring as the lead actor in the 2023 horror film “Late Night With the Devil,” Dastmalchian is particularly recognized for his performances in Christopher Nolan’s productions, such as “Oppenheimer” and “The Dark Knight.” Furthermore, he has made notable appearances in movies like “The Suicide Squad,” “Dune,” and an upcoming film titled “Life of Chuck.
