David Beckham’s Studio 99 Taps Jessica Ludgrove as Head of Production

As a devoted cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that Studio 99, the illustrious Emmy-winning film studio co-founded by none other than soccer legend David Beckham, has tapped Jessica Ludgrove for a new position within their ranks – Vice President of Production. This exciting move promises a fresh wave of cinematic brilliance from this already acclaimed production house!

As a passionate movie enthusiast here, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been appointed straightaway by President Nicola Howson to join the dynamic team at Studio 99. My role will be pivotal, ensuring we strategize and execute our project pipeline, as well as managing the production of our upcoming projects – like the highly-anticipated Victoria Beckham docuseries, a collaboration with Dorothy St. Pictures on Netflix. I can’t wait to get started!

Ludgrove boasts over two decades of industry expertise, having filled various top-tier positions. As VP of Development at Universal Pictures Content Group, she was instrumental in creating shows like “Love and Rage: Munroe Bergdorf.” Additionally, she served as the head of production at Passion Pictures doc house, where she contributed to a lineup of award-winning movies such as “The Rescue,” “Rising Phoenix,” and “The Real Charlie Chaplin.” Other accomplishments include producing films like “Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In,” “Andy Murray: Resurfacing,” and “Fire In Babylon.

Howson stated that Jessica’s extensive background in top-notch editing will significantly enhance our team and contribute to creating exceptional content and innovative formats, as we strive to move forward and reach new heights,” said Howson.

Thrilled to step into the VP Production position at Studio 99, I’m eager to collaborate with their exceptional editorial team and contribute to expanding their remarkable collection of documentaries,” expressed Ludgrove.

Studio 99, established in 2021 as part of Authentic Studios, has been producing notable works recently. These include the Emmy-winning Netflix documentary series “Beckham,” the docuseries “99” which delves into Manchester United’s treble-winning season, and the Grierson-nominated feature documentary “Ronnie O’Sullivan: The Edge of Everything,” all for Amazon Prime.

A fresh three-episode show titled “Sneaker Wars: Adidas versus Puma” is slated for release on Disney+ later this year, whereas an unnamed series featuring Victoria Beckham is scheduled to debut on Netflix around 2025.
