Dave Bautista is making a Cat Assassin game with writer of Stray

Action star Dave Bautista, renowned for his roles in WWE and films, is teaming up with screenwriter Steve Lerner (known for Stray) to launch a fresh series centered around a Feline Fatale, or Cat Assassin.

Apart from being famous for his wrestling moves that often involved flipping opponents onto tables, Dave Bautista has also made a name for himself in Hollywood. He’s starred in notable films such as Blade Runner 2049, Dune, and the Guardians of the Galaxy series.

2022 saw him establish Dogbone Entertainment, his very own production company. Currently, this firm is collaborating with the mastermind behind Stray to develop Cat Assassin, a game centered around – you guessed it – a feline hitman.

Cat Assassin creators already have franchise plans

According to GameRant, Cat Assassin is a forthcoming title that unfolds within a gritty, cat-populated universe known as neo-noir. The narrative for the game is being penned by Steve Lerner, who was also involved with Stray. Bautista will be contributing his imaginative perspective in conjunction with Titan1Studios to shape the creative direction of this project.

To clarify, this game is rumored to belong to the stealth-action genre, taking inspiration from games such as Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed. The main character in this story is Hugh, navigating his way through a treacherous city filled with peril.

It seems reasonable to infer that our actions will involve stealth and combat against opponents, though specific details about the gameplay and appearance are yet to be clarified.

Despite limited information available about Cat Assassin, substantial ambitions are underway to transform it into a cross-media empire, encompassing various forms of entertainment. In the pipeline are ideas for an animated TV show, a feature movie, a graphic novel, and further installments within the gaming series.

The development of this game is just starting out, so there’s no set release date at the moment. We might need to be patient for a trailer to come out. However, considering the caliber of people working on it, Bautista appears optimistic about the project, as he appreciates the “remarkably distinctive universe” they are building.

Beyond his career as a wrestler and actor, Bautista is also recognized as an avid gamer. He’s been actively working towards getting a Gears of War film made, where he would play the role of Marcus Fenix.
