Daughters of Darkness and Malpertuis – 4K restorations – premiere at London’s seminal FrightFest film festival

Radiance Films is thrilled to reveal a sensational pairing of films from the imaginative Belgian filmmaker Harry Kümel, whose innovative cinematic style revolutionized European genre cinema in the 1970s. Two of his most striking and unconventional pieces, “Daughters of Darkness” and “Malpertuis”, have been given pristine 4K restorations for a premier at this August’s renowned FrightFest film festival in London.


Harry Kumel, a renowned filmmaker from Europe, is admired for his unique fusion of gothic horror, sensuality, and sophisticated artistic elements. He is scheduled to make an appearance at the event.

The film “Daughters of Darkness” will be shown on Saturday, 23rd August, while “Malpertuis” is set to screen on Sunday, 24th August. Both cast members are open for interviews upon the films’ premieres.

His movies are distinctive due to their daring narrative artistry, eerie enigma, and examination of queer identity, mythology, and power.
