The showrunner has confirmed that Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again will wrap up the story arc involving Mayor Fisk. Despite this, the series has already been picked up for a third season.
This year, Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock for another intense season of Daredevil in New York City. However, he’s facing a tough challenge, as Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk—now the city’s Mayor and known as Kingpin—has banned vigilantes and is firmly in control.
Fortunately, the hero won’t be facing this challenge alone. He’ll receive help from Jessica Jones (played by Krysten Ritter), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), and the handful of police officers who haven’t been bribed by Fisk.
Though the story arc featuring Mayor Fisk is just beginning in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, the show’s creator, Dario Scardapane, confirms that the season will conclude with Kingpin no longer being mayor.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 showrunner says Mayor Fisk story comes to”inevitable conclusion”

Scardapane let slip that the storyline involving Mayor Fisk will conclude in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. This suggests Fisk will likely lose his position as mayor, potentially spoiling a key plot point for viewers.
As Season 2 wraps up the storyline featuring Mayor Fisk, and that arc reaches its natural end, the show is moving towards a style more reminiscent of the classic Frank Miller comics. While exploring politics was enjoyable, I personally prefer a more grounded, street-level focus for the series.”
It’s surprising, given that the show was picked up for a third season in September 2025 and many fans thought Wilson Fisk’s election as Mayor would be a permanent development in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, mirroring the comics. This seemed even more likely with the upcoming ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ storyline.
Although fans are still wondering if Marvel will adapt the ‘Devil’s Reign’ storyline, recent statements suggest that Season 2 of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ will conclude the arc of Mayor Fisk.
I’ve seen a lot of people online pointing out how the task force Kingpin sets up to take down vigilantes in the show feels a lot like what’s been happening with ICE in the US lately, and honestly, it’s something the people making the show are definitely thinking about as they plan season two. They’re aware of the parallels and how it’s being perceived.
Stan Lee famously wanted his comics to feel like a mirror of everyday life. And for me, the joy of working with superheroes comes from exploring these larger-than-life characters – they’re like modern myths, and that’s incredibly engaging to write about, he said.
Now that the story arc with Mayor Fisk is wrapping up, Daredevil might face even more dangerous enemies. This fits with expectations, as his longtime foes, The Hand, are also planned to appear in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day storyline.
