At TopMob, I’ve earned the title of James Bond connoisseur, keeping myself updated on 007’s escapades. So, it’s disappointing for me to confirm that the 2025 movie lineup does not include the highly anticipated James Bond 26. This news leaves room for me to pick up some new knowledge, which I find surprising given my oversight about a previously unknown scene in No Time to Die – an entire sequence exclusively featuring Daniel Craig.
Certainly, everyone is aware of Mr. Craig’s history involving injuries from stunts during his time in the tuxedo. However, as you’ll observe in the video below, Chris Corbould – Special Effects Supervisor and a legend in the James Bond world – explains that those impressive doughnut maneuvers performed by the Aston Martin in the pre-credits sequence were not done by a stunt driver.

At first glance, it might seem like a casual activity, considering many of us have attempted a donut maneuver or know someone who has. However, performing a tire-scorching spin in an Aston Martin DB5, with cameras, equipment, and crew members on hand, while Lea Seydoux sits as your passenger, is an experience that only a select few could boast about having accomplished.
It’s quite embarrassing that I didn’t know this fact, and it’s not because I think I know everything. In fact, in 2021, I was lucky enough to attend the home video press event for Daniel Craig’s final James Bond movie as part of TopMob, so I should have picked up on this detail then.
During the event, I had the pleasure of conversing directly with Mr. Corbould about the groundbreaking Guinness World Record set by the emotional climax of “No Time to Die.” This discussion took place prior to an exhilarating experience, where I rode in a Range Rover while a skilled stunt driver reenacted a scene from the final Daniel Craig James Bond film, navigating some quite muddy terrains.
It might seem surprising that such an impressive driving maneuver didn’t come up in our conversation given all those circumstances. But it didn’t happen. Yet, discovering this tidbit while we wait for the revelation of who will be the next licensed killer is like another tasty morsel that leaves us eagerly anticipating more.
It’s like discovering, to your delight, that you have a bottle of champagne stored in the car console when you thought you were all out. Though this might remind you more of a scene from the movie ‘Goldeneye’, the essence is that you find something unexpectedly pleasant when you least expect it. (And let’s keep safety first; even 007 would agree not to drink and drive!)
Let’s cross our fingers and hope that we receive positive updates on Bond 26 before the year ends, as its supposed release period is swiftly approaching. I’d be more than happy to treat whoever manages to publish the first trailer for Daniel Craig’s upcoming project, Wake Up Dead Man: a Knives Out Mystery; which is slated for Netflix in 2025.
